A Time for Dancing: Davida Wills Hurwin
So I have read this book time and time again and I LOVE it. It’s about two girls, Sam and Jules, who have been best friends for a long time. These two girls are just about to graduate high school and they are in the thick of their dancing careers when Jules is diagnosed with cancer. This book is all about how these two friends must try to overcome this illness and how this cancer affects the friendship that these two have. I found that this book was so touching and beautiful with how Hurwin wrote about the issue of terminal illness.
Although I don’t consider myself to be an overly emotional person, I have to say that I cry every time I read this book. It is so personal and touching; the way the author deals with this sensitive issue in a YA book is amazing. I would highly recommend this book for everyone because it gives readers a peek into an illness that many people have been touched by in today’s world and it shows readers how strong people can be.
